    Position Overview

    The Vice President of Sales will lead our sales organization, driving revenue growth and market share in the agriculture retail industry. This role requires a strategic leader who excels in building and nurturing relationships—with agriculture producers, vendors, and internal teams—while delivering value through grain origination and agronomy solutions. Success in this role demands strategic vision, strong market acumen, disciplined execution, resilience in dynamic conditions, and the ability to make data-driven decisions while developing future leaders.

    Key Responsibilities

    Sales Strategy and Culture – Shape, communicate, and execute a clear strategy for sales growth in all aspects of agricultural retail, grain origination, and agronomy services. Build a sales culture emphasizing relationship-driven growth while engaging with stakeholders to build long-term trust-based partnerships that drive mutual success.

    Data Analytics – Leverage data analytics and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities across the cooperative. Identify and align data-driven opportunities, decisions, and metrics with the strategic sales vision to set and achieve revenue and margin targets and the overall strategy and operational capabilities of the company.

    People – Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to implement and execute the sales strategy. Drive leadership and management development initiatives withing the sales organization to cultivate a pipeline of future leaders and managers. Present performance reports and strategic recommendations to the executive leaders. Oversee the recruitment, training, and mentoring of sales personnel with a focus on relationship-building and producer engagement. This will look like a culture of customer service, technical expertise, and market intelligence that prioritizes a strong connection within all aspects of the company (producers, employees, owners, leaders, et al) while maintaining positive, transparent relationships in all professional interactions.

    Sales and Operation Planning – Coordinate with ALL divisions (Operations and Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, Risk Management, Logistics and Technology) to ensure seamless execution and unified customer satisfaction during the implementation of the sales strategy. Appropriately provide feedback to product development and operational teams, lead negotiation of large-scale supply agreements, and respond with resilience and adaptability to customer needs, market volatility, weather impacts, and commodity price fluctuations.

    • 10+ years in agriculture retail, grain origination, or agribusiness sales leadership with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with agriculture producers.
    • Demonstrated success in managing multi-region sales teams and driving growth through trust-based partnerships.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, or related field.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Strong market acumen and ability to execute strategies effectively.
    • Resilient and adaptable in dynamic agricultural markets.
    • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and CRM systems.
    • Ability to analyze market trends and adapt strategies to strengthen producer relationships.
    • Proven ability to set and execute a strategic vision for long-term growth.
