With a strong foundation and growing retail footprint, The organization is seeking a strategic sales and marketing leader to drive brand growth, accelerate omnichannel expansion, and deepen consumer engagement across diverse markets.

    Summary of Role and Essential Functions:

    The Vice President (VP) of Sales and Marketing is a senior executive position that plays a crucial role in driving The Ginger People’s business growth and revenue. This key leadership role is responsible for developing and executing sales and marketing strategies that align with the company's overall objectives. The VP oversees both sales and marketing teams, ensuring a cohesive approach to achieving business goals.

    This individual in this role has responsibilities that are diverse and far-reaching requiring a unique blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and technical expertise.

    Strategic Planning and Goal Setting – A key responsibility of the VP of Sales and Marketing is to develop comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the company's overall objectives. This involves setting measurable and realistic targets for sales and marketing teams, creating short term and long term goals for revenue growth, and conducting market research and competitor analyses to inform leadership on strategy adjustments. Work closely with department leaders on creating and administering sales and marketing related policies, workflows, and procedures.

    Team Leadership and Management – The VP of Sales and Marketing is responsible for leading and managing high performing sales and marketing teams. They will hire, train, and mentor sales and marketing employees, conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback on a continual basis, and foster a positive, results-driven work environment.

    Budget Management and Resource Allocation ­– Effective budget management and resource allocation are critical to the success of the VP of Sales and Marketing. This involves creating and overseeing sales and marketing budgets, allocating resources effectively across various initiatives and analyzing return on investment for marketing campaigns and sales efforts

    Market Research and Analysis ­– The VP of Sales and Marketing must stay ahead of market trends and competitor strategies. This involves conducting thorough market research to identify opportunities and trends plus using data to inform decision making and strategy adjustments.

    Product and Service Development – The VP of Sales and Marketing is dedicated to ensuring products align with market demand, so they need to collaborate with the product teams to align offerings with the market demands, provide input on pricing strategies and product positioning and identify new market opportunities for new and existing products.

    Relationship Building – Developing and maintaining solid working relationships with The Ginger People interdepartmental teams, distributors, vendors, distributors, organization partners is critical for this role.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales AND marketing roles with a minimum of 5 years of experience in management level positions. This experience must include a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth, leading teams, and developing effective sales and marketing strategies
    • International sales and/or marketing experience will be a plus
    • Must have experience in strategic planning and execution
    • Having the ability to motivate teams and manage several projects concurrently while meeting sales and marketing goals is a critical part of this role
    • Proficiency in customer relations software and marketing automation tools
    • Experience in data analysis and interpretation capabilities
    • Must understand digital marketing platforms and techniques, including social media, email marketing and search engine optimization (SEO)
    • Demonstrated leadership skills to include management of teams in both sales and marketing
    • Strategic thinking and critical thinking skills
    • Excellent communication skills in writing, understanding, speaking, and active listening
    • Presentation skills and ability to engage employees/listeners
    • Must lead by example, inspire their teams, and make data driven decisions to drive revenue growth and business success

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree preferred

    Work hours, location, and environment:

    • This position is based in Marina, CA. with travel to Gilroy and other locations. Requires flexibility with scheduling.
