Butterfly Staffing is seeking is seeking an accomplished logistics executive to lead and grow its warehousing and distribution operations for a leading national 3PL provider in Chesapeake, VA. With over 2.5 million square feet of space across multiple facilities and a workforce of 250+, this role offers the opportunity to modernize and transform operations for the next generation of growth.
The Vice President, Warehousing & Distribution will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for operational excellence, P&L performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term strategic planning. This position is open to leaders located outside of the Hampton Roads, VA area who are open to relocation.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Business Leadership
- Drive the overall success of warehousing and distribution operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and profitability goals.
- Develop and execute near-term operational plans and long-term growth strategies.
- Serve on the senior leadership team, contributing to business forecasting and strategic goal setting.
- Identify and develop new revenue streams from existing customers, new markets, or expanded service offerings.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple facilities, leading warehouse, packing & crating, facilities, and security teams.
- Develop and implement best practices to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to optimize inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving processes.
- Establish operational metrics and dashboards focused on people and asset productivity.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and OSHA regulations.
Customer & Team Development
- Build strong customer relationships and instill a culture of service throughout the distribution staff.
- Partner across business units to deliver integrated supply chain solutions.
- Support the development of a talent strategy to recruit, retain, and grow high-performing teams.
- Influence technology adoption and data-driven decision-making to strengthen operational performance.

Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience overseeing large teams (200+ employees) in logistics, manufacturing, construction, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success with P&L ownership, pricing, and costing models.
- Expertise in developing and using operational metrics and management dashboards.
- Strong background in process improvement, with certifications in Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Education:
BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred.
