    SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

    Reporting to our Food & Beverage Management/Supervisory team, this position professionally serves guests by providing information about the culinary and beverage selections available, helping guests to navigate the menus, collecting guests’ selections, accurately presenting and serving selected items, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the experience and communicating effectively with team members and the management/supervisory team to prevent and resolve any issues. The server will also be responsible for payment processing and assisting in the maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment.

    • Maintain and execute 5-star Forbes and 5 Diamonds AAA standards.
    • Know and be able to speak eloquently about the hotel, restaurant, food and beverage offerings, wine, beer, and cocktail selections.
    • Gain insights to a guest dining preference through verbal and nonverbal cues.
    • Be respectful and courteous to all colleagues and guests.
    • Maintain the ambiance and service standards of the hotel throughout dining experience.
    • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
    • Prepare room for dining by preparing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, polishing glassware, and polishing utensils.
    • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording guests' choices, identifying guests' special dietary needs, food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
    • Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
    • Serve orders by picking up and delivering guests' choices from bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments from service areas.
    • Respond to additional guest requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process.
    • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, maintaining beverage service and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
    • Proper handling of various payment options; Obtain revenues by totaling charges, issuing bill, accepting payment, delivering bill and payment to host, returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
    • Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting patrons to return.
    • Capable of providing instruction and assistance to the server assistant in their station.
    • Successfully resolve any guest issues and complaints in a calm manner and communicate all concerns to management.
    • Stock and restock service stations as needed.

     SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

    • Capability of offering a charismatic and friendly style of service tailored to specific guests and their needs, building a rapport with guests to establish future business.
    • The ability to motivate and inspire others to work cooperatively to achieve a designated goal.
    • The ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent Hotel data.
    • The ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, managers, and colleagues.
    • The ability to convey technical information through writing to a nontechnical audience so the recipients easily understand the information and can quickly and correctly apply it.
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle the fast pace environment and effectively manage an assigned station to ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Learn and retain the product knowledge relative to the position on the floor.
    • Knowledge of Food & Beverage and Private Dining operational procedures beneficial.
    • Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect department, preferred.
    • General understanding of POS systems and ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems preferred.
    • Ability to exercise the personal discipline and extra diligence to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner.
    • FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE - Willing and able to work shift duties that may include. evenings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able walk, stand and exert well placed mobility.
    • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch.
    • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
    • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

     QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

    • EDUCATION: High school or equivalent preferred.
    • EXPERIENCE: Two years of high-end hotel restaurant server experience preferred.
    • LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:  TIPS and SERV Safe certified required.
    • GROOMING: All colleagues must maintain a neat, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided).
