    Job Description

    General Summary

    The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for representing Victory Family Services at various community activities and events, organizing media and outreach campaigns, fundraising, and coordinating volunteer activities.

    Since fundraising is vital to the health of our ongoing operations, the Community Outreach Coordinator may be asked to assist with fundraising events.

    The individual in this position must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and must be proficient in the use of institutional databases and research methods, as well as in handling administrative duties.

    The position requires flexible work hours including evening and weekend availability.

    Primary Duties

    □ Handling public relations, such as developing strategic relationships, attending community events, and conducting informational presentations at a variety of local venues.

    □ Developing press releases, brochures, and other marketing materials, in conjunction with the Victory Family Services contracted public relations and marketing agency.

    □ Ensuring that the victoryfs.org website is up to date with all current informational materials and calendar events.

    □ Organizing outreach events, including marketing and planning, to promote the agency's services, recruit resource parents, and receive donations.

    □ Collecting and analyzing data on local demographics, developing results, and presenting conclusions to the CEO.

    □ Working with the CEO to create action plans.

    □ Advertising for and recruiting resource parents, respite caregivers, and volunteers. Manage a database of successful contacts and eventual outcomes.

    □ Representing Victory Family Services, explaining our services, and answering questions posed by stakeholders and the general public.

    □ Performing administrative duties, such as organizing mailings, monitoring the budget, managing social media, and reporting on results of the media campaign and PR efforts.

    □ Assisting with general office tasks on an as-needed basis.

    □ Other related duties as assigned.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    □ Excellent communication skills.

    □ Ability to work independently, including on nights and weekends as needed.

    □ Ability to understand and manage budgets.

    □ Experience with institutional databases, public access sites, and primary research skills.

    □ Social media management and promotions.

    □ Newsletter development.

    □ Demonstrated organization and time management skills.

    □ Ability to function in a team-oriented working environment.

    □ Ability and experience to work in a multi-cultural environment.

    □ Bilingual not required but preferred.

     

    Education and Experience

    □ At least 2 years of experience working in outreach roles.

    □ Experience working in the social services and/or the child welfare industry is a plus.

     

    Physical Requirements

    □ Able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

    □ Able to stand, sit, walk, and reach frequently.

    □ Able to drive a vehicle.

    □ Able to use mouse and type.
