The Company & Problem Set:

Our partner is a climate-tech startup building a global measurement, reporting, and verification platform for carbon removal and storage in soil. Globally, soils have the potential to remove over 1 billion tons of carbon. This can be done through smart agriculture practices and other emerging solutions. This startup seeks to leverage sensors, sampling, and AI modeling to measure soil carbon. Through measurement, climate finance has the visibility to incentivize the adoption of sustainable practices and maximize carbon removal to sustain the environment.

This company was founded out of Stanford’s TomKat Center and just finished their seed raise. They are backed by big names including Sheryl Sandberg, John Doerr, Kleiner Perkins, Floodgate, Ponderosa Ventures, and more.

They are looking for a founding software engineer to help architect and build the entire tech stack (fullstack + platform + CI/CD) and lead a growing engineering team.

The Must Haves:

• 5-10 years of experience building and owning a complete end-to-end technology stack (Frontend + Backend + Cloud + CI/CD)

• Proven track record of working through the entire product development lifecycle…writing the first lines of code to deploying into the hands of users and continuously iterating to improve features.

• Ability to develop infrastructure/pipelines to support machine learning and remote sensing workflows

• Previous experience leading and mentoring teams

• Previous experience in a startup environment

• Thrive in a fast paced environment and love smashing ambiguity to build awesome solutions
