Perform site readiness checks, install and configure devices (including wired installs for ADA residents as directed), verify connectivity, deliver basic resident onboarding, and document each completion per City checklist and project procedures. Work activities: Required
• Conduct pre-install site checks (mounting location, power/wiring readiness as applicable, Wi-Fi signal/basic connectivity).
• Install, configure, and test video doorbell cameras; complete install checklist and resident sign-off.
• Perform wired installs for ADA residents when scheduled, otherwise complete standard installation per program guidance.
• Troubleshoot device/app connectivity issues and escalate to vendor support when required.
• Track device inventory (serial numbers), manage spares, and coordinate swaps/returns for defective units.
• Support event-day deployment and final block party operations as requested
• Must report onsite. US Citizenship required. Will undergo a background check prior to hire.0
Skills/experience:
• 2+ years’ experience installing and servicing low-voltage devices (e.g., CCTV, access control, alarms, networking) or equivalent.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams/schematics and perform safe installations using standard tools.
• Basic Wi-Fi/network troubleshooting and strong customer service communication.
• Valid driver’s license: ability to work outdoors and perform field work safely.
Highly Desired/Preferred
• Experience with video surveillance systems and related software/tools.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (switches, VLANs, Power over Ethernet) and structured cabling is a plus.
