    Carolina Center for Surgery is searching for a full time outpatient orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant / PTA for our clinic in Swansboro, North Carolina. Under the direction of a physical therapist, the physical therapist assistant will aid in a variety of patient care, including performing test, evaluations and help in complex procedures. We are searching for a Physical Therapist Assistant/ PTA that want to be part of a collaborative team that encourage the achievement of professional career goals and personal growth.     Job Responsibilities 

    • The Physical Therapist Assistant, under the supervision of a physical therapist, will implement the patient's treatment program.
    • Experience in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine preferred but not required.
    • The Physical Therapist Assistant / PTA coordinates with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs with specific goals defined by the patient''s capacity and tolerance and in accordance with physical therapist plan and physician orders.
    • The Physical Therapist Assistant/ PTA, under the guidance of the physical therapist, will work with and instruct family members and caregivers of the patient on their treatment plan and how to implement that program at home.
    • Educate patients about the bio-mechanics of their body''s natural movement to prevent additional injury and to promote wellness.

    Requirements include:

    • Current state license as a Registered Physical Therapist Assistant or actively in the application process.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel and lift heavy objects.
    • Current CPR certification.
    • Graduated from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
    • Valid Driver's License
    • At least 18 years of age
    • Ability to travel within the surrounding geographic area daily
    • Ability to use ladders and work at heights up to 40'
    • Ability to lift 70+ pounds
