    St. George Auto Gallery, located in St. George, Utah, is on the lookout for a skilled Automotive Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic team. As the Automotive Accounting Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in executing our accounting operations on a day-to-day basis within the dealership. Your responsibilities will include precise and prompt financial reporting and offering strategic insights to enhance profitability. This opportunity is for a full-time, salaried position where you will be an essential team member in our dealership.

    Responsibilities include:

    Perform daily accounting duties including accounts payable/receivable, invoice processing and expense tracking.

    Reconciliation of financial accounts to ensure accuracy and inform management of any deviations from budgets.

    Prepare monthly/annual financial documents (e.g., reconciliation reports, profit/loss statements, etc.), perform audits, and monitor monthly financial reports for cost reduction opportunities to management.

    Work closely with other departments to ensure operational and financial goals are aligned.

    Utilize accounting software (e.g., Excel, Quickbooks, IDMS, etc.) to import sales invoices, checks, account statements, financial transactions, etc. to create sustainable financial reports and depreciable assets.

    Update ledgers, research, and resolve discrepancies.

    Calculate and process sales tax payments in compliance with regulatory requirements and prepare annual tax preparation with external CPA firm.

    Maintain professional communication with internal staff, clients, and vendors.

    Review and follow-up with vendor accounts, as needed.

    Process trade-in payoffs, pay verified invoices and send out approved checks.

    Maintains and review invoice files.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications

    Preferred- Degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent work experience.

    Previous accounting experience in the automotive industry preferred.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office (excel) and accounting software (Quickbooks).

    Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

    Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
