HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with recruitment of qualified candidates through the posting of job ads, phone screening, attending job fairs, checking references for four different companies.
- Processes paperwork for personnel actions including terminations, job transfers, etc.
- Coordination of the on boarding process by conducting new hire orientations and entry of all associated data.
- Coordination and administration of DOT, NON-DOT compliance to include medical exams, drug testing, licensing, and driver qualification files.
- Assists with the coordination and planning of company events.
- Ensures new or transferring employees are fitted for uniforms in St Cloud and assists with issues related to uniforms in all branches.
- Tracks information to ensure documents such as Health Cards and Drivers Licenses are up to date and accurate.
- Provides administrative support including typing, filing, copying, faxing, answering telephones, scheduling meetings, etc.
- Completes Motor Vehicle Requests for current and prospective employees; initiates companywide MVR annual screening.
- Responds to inquiries from individuals seeking employment.
- Prepares packets of company benefit forms for new hires and newly qualified employees.
- Tracks information on various reports such as personality or pre-employment profiles.
- Reviews benefit invoices for accuracy and coordinates with insurance companies on any discrepancies.
- Processes benefit enrollments including new hires, qualifying life events, open enrollments, etc.
- Assists during annual Open Enrollment meetings at branch locations.
- Completes First Report of Injury reports.
- Investigates workers' compensation issues and works with workers' compensation administrator for case management.
- Keeps human resources material current by updating forms on-line and in packets.
- Completes employment verifications via phone, fax and/or email.
- Facilitates the drug testing process and maintains drug testing paperwork and files.
- Processes paperwork for all leaves of absences, including FMLA, personal, military, etc.
- Tracks information on various reports such as employee anniversary and birthday tracking.
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding benefits, including contacting plan administrators for clarification or problem resolution.
- Acts as first point of contact for all employee matters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates will have either 2 years of HR experience or a degree in HR Management or a related field.
Ideal Candidates will have proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and Great Plains; the ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization and externally with applicants.
