Our client is seeking a Geoscience Technician (OR GIS Technician) for their office located in Houston, TX. We also have a position open in Midland, TX.

Primary Role:
This position actively contributes to the development of keymaps and assessment outputs while enhancing, managing, and refining geological and GIS databases.
Key Responsibilities:
Play a central role in designing and implementing solutions for geoscience databases and GIS software.
Ensure the quality and maintenance of databases by meticulously assessing data quality and coherence across various projects and software platforms.
Produce and modify maps and cross sections for regulatory documentation.
Assist geoscience and engineering teams in gathering, organizing, and storing logs, core data, well test reports, formation tops, petrophysical interpretations, and seismic data.
Maintain an in-house log database containing regularly updated measured and calculated logs.
Aid in the upkeep of Petrel projects by integrating updated well, log, and GIS data.
Collect, filter, and distribute IHS and public well data to support project maintenance and presentation materials.
Produce detailed maps using Petrel or ArcGIS for presentation purposes.
Manage and submit well log data to state regulatory agencies.
Digitize data such as well logs or PDF reports as needed.
Collaborate closely with the subsurface team to streamline data transfer, ensure data quality, and recommend best practices, addressing the needs of geologists and engineers.
Provide technical support for in-house projects and partnerships, maintaining strict confidentiality regarding proprietary information.
Demonstrate a self-starting mindset, setting personal career development goals and staying informed about emerging trends in geoscience technology. Propose innovative solutions to enhance departmental efficiency.

COMP: This position is a direct hire, full time role that comes with full benefits. The salary is based on experience and will range between $100K-$125K.
