Village Home Stores is looking for an applicant with great people skills to be the first impression for our Geneseo showroom visitors and customers phoning the store. This applicant will also assist our Lighting Sales team with tasks in our award-winning lighting showroom. Village Home Stores provides lighting for home remodeling projects as well as entire new home lighting packages. Lighting is an exciting and ever-changing segment of the interior design industry.

Responsibilities:
Receive incoming calls from clients and industry professionals in a courteous manner
Greet customers in store and over the phone/online, answering questions, engaging customers with merchandise, and providing exceptional customer service
Organizing and maintaining an orderly appearance throughout the showroom
Build product knowledge over time
Help in ordering and receiving product for some of our departments
Pull bulb packages , under cabinet lighting, and stock inventory, and switches and outlets for sold jobs
Keep light bulbs, under cabinet lighting, and switches and outlet inventory up to date
Review purchase orders and note backordered fixtures. Contact vendors to check on backordered fixtures
Process replacement requests for fixtures and glass. Request credits for damaged or replacement product, and disposing of field destroy items
Prepare damaged or returned goods to vendors by packaging, labeling and shipping
Assist with labeling and organizing incoming window treatment jobs
Update light fixture and window treatment tags in the showroom and create tags for new products
Assist with maintaining lighting showroom and in the success of Village Home Stores in any way possible. Assist with hanging new product as needed. Assist with taking down and wrapping any sold display product. Keep lighting catalogs up to date and pull discontinued fabrics from the sample books for window treatments
Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented
Comfortable using computers
Positive Attitude
Team player who can work independently
An outgoing personality with an interest in the interior design field and a desire to stay current with home trends
