    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position will assist Fitness Department with leadership, connectivity and administrative duties relating to operating the fitness department. Typical responsibilities will include assisting with meeting and scheduling new club members for their initial fitness consultation at point of join, prescribing and promoting training packages, trainers and programs, the Fitness Advice Center schedule, completing bi-weekly payroll corrections and calculations, updating the outstanding sessions list, investigating scheduling errors on the PT Report, and confirming and rescheduling Fit Plan appointments. This position will also assist with leading a team of fitness professionals in providing world-class service to all VillaSport members in the fitness center and in delivering high quality fitness training services, small group training programs, and educational seminars that help members achieve their health and personal goals and generate significant revenues for the club. Under supervision of the Fitness Director, the Fitness Lead Associate is responsible for achieving or exceeding departmental budget expectations and for ensuring (in conjunction with the Facilities Director) that all fitness equipment is properly maintained, operational and safe. The Fitness Lead Associate performs management duties in addition to coordinating with the Fitness Director to ensure management presence during all peak hours. The Fitness Lead Associate participates in club-wide events, parties, programs and projects.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Proficiency in Word and Excel; ability to learn new software systems quickly.

    Knowledge and expertise in individual and group training protocols, standards and sales strategies.

    Knowledge of current fitness trends in programming and equipment.

    Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.

    Strong sales and sales training skills.

    Minimum one year in an administrative position preferred.

    Experience in a high revenue-generating personal training/fitness department.

    Minimum one year personal training experience with proven track record of high service and revenue performance preferred.

    Experience with development and delivery of educational workshops and seminars.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking

    Comfortable with striking up conversations with members, with approaching members at the club, with providing advice and assistance, with calling members on the phone, and with handling and resolving member complaints

    Excellent proofreading skills.

    Ability to focus on a task or assignment through completion.

    Ability to check own work for accuracy.

    Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

    Must have at least one nationally recognized accredited certification from the following:

    American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

    National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

    National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

    Cooper Institute.

    American Council on Exercise (ACE).

    Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).

    National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF).

    PTA Global (PTA)

    First Aid/CPR/AED certification required prior to hire date.

    4-Year Degree in the Fitness Field preferred.
