    Job Title: Scheduler, Vinyl Production Reports to: Senior Director, Supply Chain FLSA Status: Nonexempt

    Your role:

    The Scheduler, Vinyl Production manages project timelines/schedules and builds monthly capacity plans for our guaranteed capacity at pressing plants. This person manages processes and projects within the production department while also assisting the Vinyl Quality, Manager. It is important to be willing and able to collaborate cross-functionally with all levels of VMP and their external partners, participating in the development and maintenance of long-term relationships.

    In this position, you will:

    • Contribute to the production of all records manufactured by VMP (Records of the Month “ROTMs,” Anthologies, and select Store Exclusives).
    • Maintain relationships with external partners, including production vendors and manufacturers (mastering engineers, pressing plants, printing companies, etc.) as well as music labels, vendors, and artists' management teams.
    • Develop and maintain relationships across all teams at VMP, proactively provide internal updates on VMP projects to team members with relevant information via Slack, email, and calls.
    • Acquire source audio from external partners and facilitate processing it into vinyl records (lacquer cutting, direct metal mastering).
    • Aggregate album art files from external partners when available, otherwise coordinate with the Creative Director when VMP is responsible for designing.
    • Coordinate with the relevant VMP team members who will be creating print work for ROTMs and Anthologies (liner notes, obi-strips, etc.).
    • Manage timelines for project deliverables (assets, approvals) to ensure on-time completion of products by acquiring and sharing necessary assets and approval dates with both external and internal partners. Escalating to Senior Director, Supply Chain when deliverables are missed.
    • Participate in weekly and bi-weekly meetings with external production partners to discuss current project statuses and planning for upcoming projects.
    • Assist in the distribution of production reports weekly and bi-weekly for internal meetings (Production, Music Team, AtoZ, etc.).
    • Help maintain, monitor, and organize the database in Airtable with the most current information pertaining to production status, due dates, and the incoming project pipeline.
    • Submit BOMs (Bill of Materials) to manufacturing partners.
    • Monitor the completion of VMP-manufactured products and communicate any changes to the timeline to appropriate VMP stakeholders.
    • Support the hand-off of projects between Production and other departments working on projects we are manufacturing.
    • Share project priorities with the Quality team to ensure on-time completion of projects.
    • Gather project priorities from the Music and eCommerce teams to be used in production capacity planning
    • Build monthly production capacity plans for review with the Supply Chain, Senior Director
    • Manage and maintain production SiSense dashboards.

    Skills, experience, and qualities that will help you be successful:

    • At least two years of experience in production, supply chain, and/or the music industry

    • Enjoy problem-solving and adapting to reprioritization of needs regularly

    • A passion for music

    • Be organized with good time management

    • Have excellent written communication, email is a primary function of communication

    • Be familiar with vinyl manufacturing process

    • Understanding of software programs such as: Adobe Acrobat, Airtable, Notion, Google Suite, Slack, and Box

    It would also be great if you:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering; Computer Science; Supply Chain Management; Management Information Systems; or a related technical degree

    • Experience managing projects and/or timelines

    • Baseline familiarity with vinyl

    Must operate within the context of established objectives. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be have a dedicated work space, as this is a remote job. Must be willing to travel 2-3 times a year. Must have reliable wifi.

    Pay Range : $22-$28 per hour, full time, nonexempt position
