Virginia Mobile Air Conditioning Systems, Inc.

We service earthmoving machines of all brands for customers throughout Southeastern Virginia and Northeast North Carolina. Our company has a heavy focus on our specialty of working with climate control systems. We are currently staffing to expand our services to include regular maintenance and general repairs of earthmoving machinery. We are seeking a heavy equipment mechanic with a minimum of 3 years experience working with all forms of repairs, including hydraulic, electrical, climate control and power-train. This a field service position with leadership role.

Job duties would include:

Diagnosis & repair of mechanical issues on customers job site or in the shop

Performing tests on systems to identify & validate repairs. Electrical work, Hydraulic work, minor power-train work, regular services & all manner of regular maintenance

Handling warranty claims

Managing work orders & tracking of parts

Managing repair hours, job assignments

Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and tools

Maintaining cleanliness of warehouse & shop

Maintaining cleanliness of work vehicles

Paperwork, computer work as required

For this position the ideal candidate should:

Have minimum 3 years experience as a professional mechanic working with construction machinery

Field experience a plus

Dealer experience is a plus

Applicable Trade school diploma is a plus

Related ASE certifications in trucking or automotive systems is a plus

Have adequate & reliable tools

Be available to work additional hours & weekends on short notice as needed

Be comfortable working outdoors in variable weather

Organized & professional appearance

Be highly motivated, resourceful & safety conscious - you will frequently work alone

This is a leadership position mentoring junior mechanics

The position requires without exception:

Positive background check - no felonies or misdemeanors

Proof of good DMV required with valid driver's license

TWIC card will be required within 90 days of hire

Pre-Employment Drug screen required

References required
