QUALITY ASSURANCE TEST INTERN

Virtual Peaker is looking for QA Test Interns that will help save the world by working to build the utility of the future. Renewable energy is going to save humanity, but the intermittent nature of wind and solar energy makes it much harder for electric utilities to keep the grid in balance. The Virtual Peaker Software as a Service platform helps utilities keep the grid in balance by interacting with residential IoT devices to change their behavior, thereby easing the transition away from fossil fuels.

OUR APPROACH TO INTERNSHIP

• Full integration with the QA Engineer team: make real contributions to testing our products; participate in the test process and team meetings
• Mentoring: one-on-one support
• Incrementalism: start with using our applications and learning about the test processes; progress to pair testing with an experienced QA Engineer; gradually increase the breadth and complexity of the testing tasks

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to think critically, design experiments to discover software behaviors and document your findings
• Demonstrable technical aptitude towards understanding how things work (eg: prior work experience, software/webpage projects, course work, etc.)
• A strong desire to learn new skills and contribute to a team's goals

The Virtual Peaker QA Engineer team uses automation tools Playwright and Pytest for regression testing. Candidates need not be familiar with these tools but should have an ambition to learn how to code automated tests.

DURATION: 18 weeks

HOURLY PAY: $18.00 - $22.00

SCHEDULE: Up to 40 hours per week. Flexible schedule but ideally overlaps traditional working hours as much as possible
