    SUMMARY:

    The primary goal of the Therapist is to help those struggling with interpersonal/relationship issues. The main role is to develop a humanistic and empathetic relationship with those who are struggling. This process will help promote trust and growth with clients facing personal, family, and social crises. Therapists will demonstrate mastery of the scope of practice as evidenced by measurable performance evaluations of direct client services and written documentation skills:

    Substance abuse and relapse.

    Coping with difficult life changes.

    Developing and maintaining intimate relationships.

    Rebuilding relationships.

    Family conflicts.

    Loneliness, depression, PTSD, or anxiety.

    Grief and loss.

    Understanding of process/behavior addiction

    Self-esteem.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Completion of all client process duties and/or documentation within timelines

    Interns/Associates/Psychological Assistants are required to attend the Board of Behavioral Science required supervision provided weekly, to earn hours toward licensure.

    Licensed Therapist will participate in monthly consultation/peer group supervision.

    Therapists are to attend weekly clinical program meetings and ongoing/continuous educational training on documentation of medical necessity. This will include mastery of ASAM criteria based on insurance-based medical necessity criteria for all levels of care in the continuum of care provided in the agency.

    Daily contact per work days assigned, as well as weekly interdisciplinary treatment team attendance, to collaborate with all members of staff to provide continuity of care

    Required documentation in the chart according to policy timelines to include: bio-psych-socials, master treatment plans, individual, family, group sessions, weekly status review, transition/discharge plans and other clinically indicated documentation

    Must possess basic computer skills including working knowledge of both Mac and PC operating systems and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and EHR

    Therapist’s skills will be measured by management through regular routine quantitative and qualitative chart audits. Chart audits will reflect clinically appropriate content and timeline benchmarks of completion.

    Clinical updates to family and/or referral sources (as allowed via client consent)

    Regular sessions with clients, as assigned, conducting individual, family, and group therapy

    Crisis Intervention

    Observe, evaluate, and report on behavior, attitudes, and general emotional stability, of clients and their family members to help assist in treatment planning/discharge planning by assessing the social needs of individual clients, including referrals to outside providers after transitioning to outpatient therapy

    Record all interventions and interactions with the client, family, and community agencies through progress notes in the chart/electronic medical record with master treatment plan guiding services

    Therapist will sign and acknowledge the job description/revised job description which will be placed in the employee file.

    Therapists will be provided performance evaluations to measure performance areas. The inability to meet performance expectations will result in a specific, short-term performance enhancement action plan with a timeline to improve. Below average rating in employee performance will result in progressive disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

    Has the ability to incorporate the Wellbriety curriculum in their treatment practices

    Is knowledgeable and practiced in performing traditional Native American healing practices (smudging, pipe ceremony, sweat lodge, etc.)

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Minimum 1500 hours earned toward licensing hours with a registered number with a positive standing from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences

    Possess a valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or Licensed Psychologist issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences/Board of Psychology

    Master’s Degree or PsyD and two years of supervised clinical experience

    Experience in substance abuse and dual diagnosis residential treatment facility preferred

    CBT and evidence-based experience are a plus

    Experience with trauma and eating disorders preferred

    Experience with providing prevention and early intervention behavioral health services

    Must have treatment experience with professional solid references attesting to a high degree of clinical sophistication

    Trained to independently diagnose and treat mental health and substance abuse problems

    Experience with evidenced-based documentation and/or ASAM documentation

    Current certification in First Aid/CPR

    Completion of one or more of the following Wellbriety trainings: The Medicine Wheel and 12 Steps course, Mending Broken Hearts course, Warrior Down/Recovery Coach course
