    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    An experienced, self-motivated team player and analytical problem solver who is a key player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As an integral and early member of the FP&A team, you are a critical lead in building our FP&A capabilities, developing processes and partnering with cross-functional teams to support decision making for rapid business growth. You are a self-starter with acute attention to detail, an ownership mindset, financial prowess, and an aptitude for technology.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Deliver and manage key aspects of the forecasting and budgeting processes, including financial planning and modelling, development of robust revenue, margins, expense, balance sheet, cash forecast assumptions, and business plan development 
    • Analyze monthly operating and financial results for the three financial statements, including preparing internal reporting deliverables, analyzing trends & drivers, and explaining budget/forecast vs. actual variances 
    • Assist in developing board materials, fundraising materials, and other external reporting to advise investors and other key stakeholders on overall company financial health
    • Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve, automate and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes, and methodologies
    • Partner with business leaders to define relevant key financial and performance metrics and establish a framework for ongoing reporting and analysis 
    • Track the medical device/diagnostics industry and assist in implementing industry best practices 
    • Help drive optimal business decision making through data-driven financial, quantitative and strategic analysis combined with sound business judgement
    • Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to support commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, R&D and other operations to deliver on business goals
    • Lead and support ad hoc strategic and operational projects as required

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • BA/BS with 6+ years of experience in finance or another discipline with similar analytical rigor or relevant work experience including familiarity with US GAAP showing strong career progression
    • 2+ years of people management experience
    • Additional qualifications such as MBA/CMA/CPA are an advantage
    • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail and advanced business acumen mindset
    • Systems savvy, strong proficiency in MS Excel and complex financial modeling experience
    • Deadline-driven, organized, with willingness to adapt to the rapid business and organizational demands that result from a complex, high pressure and high-growth environment with minimal supervision
    • Inter-personal skills to cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and effectively communicate technical concepts to functional business partners.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Experience with NetSuite and planning systems such as Adaptive Insights is a plus
    • Self-starter, strong team player and customer service orientation
    • Intellectual curiosity and unrelenting desire to learn
    • Comfortable working with high level guidance and independently building working action plan 
    • Emerging company and medical device experience a plus
