Mixologists serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to restaurant and bar patrons. They may serve beer and wine, make classic drinks or create new recipes for cocktails. Mixologists are responsible for ensuring that their bars run smoothly and efficiently, keeping the work area clean and organized, and delivering outstanding service to both guests and co-workers.
Job Requirements:
Complete all required brand specific training
Complete all required Vision University training
Complete all required health and safety training, and have or able to get needed license
Adhere to all Vision Hospitality Group, Inc. and property specific brand standards
Perform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests
Provide personalized, friendly service to each and every guest
Greet guests and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
Mix and garnish beverages according to recipe and portion control standards.
Present and serve beverages to guests
Check guests for proper identification and serve alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with federal, state, local and company laws and regulations
Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards and vouchers
Stock and maintain the bar inventory
Ensure product quality of all beverage-related perishables
Respond professionally to inebriated guests, as needed
Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationship with liquor vendors to ensure cooperation and accessibility to vendor promos and assistance.
Maintain liquor inventory to ensure proper security measures are in place.
Order required Beer/Wine/Spirits in a timely fashion to maintain menu integrity
Server as mentor and leader providing guidance and training to other bartenders
Promptly greet guests at bar and tables, offer food menu, inform them of the drink specials.
Certified in Serving Alcohol with Care.
Knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures.
Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.
Necessary Skills:
Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc.
Must be responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow employees and hotel assets
Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
Have dependable transportation available
Able to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in person
Able to work a flexible schedule. We are a 24/7 business which may require work availability of nights, weekends, and holidays
Is organized, honest, works well with others, and has an outgoing personality.
Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and person
Able to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
Must be enthusiastic about food and beverage
Skilled at creating imaginative cocktails and infusions
Knowledge and use of flare bartending skills
Full knowledge of all state liquor laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages
Strong knowledge of wines and spirits.
Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) required or state required certification
Must work well individually and as part of a team
Strong organizational and communications skills
Keep hospitality at a VIP level under a busy, stressful, and intense environment.
Physical Requirements:
Be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds
Can stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment
Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far
Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder
Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
Must be able to handle heat and stress
Have finger dexterity for operating equipment
Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English
