Job Description
As a member of the Vision Hospitality Development & Construction Team, the development manager is responsible for overseeing one or more developments or re-development projects. The ideal candidate will possess key traits that we value in our associates such as integrity, a great attitude, strong leadership and dedication to excellence. We are looking for someone with a strong, documented background that includes site work, ground-up structural construction, finishes, and MEP on hotel/multi-family projects. Must be self-motivated, possess skills, communicate clearly, have strong organizational and computer skills, have a "Can-do” attitude, pro-active and resourceful. Ideal candidates will have previous experience on hospitality projects and the ability to be comfortable actively participating in the pre-construction phase when necessary and ensure that projects are built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures.
Preferred Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
A minimum of 5 years experience in field operations
Hands on knowledge working on hospitality/multi-family construction projects
Previous experience working with FF&E purchasing agents and procurement firms
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Oversee the coordination of the design team with general vendors
Presentation of projects with local municipalities and/or investment partners
Become familiar with all project plans, specifications, contract documents, etc.
Ability to travel to and from sites and differing locations as needed.
Confirm that all subcontractors working on site have the most current and complete documents with which to work from.
Participate in pre-construction planning sessions by trade to familiarize with the unique characteristics of the schedule and trade interface.
Participate in organization, scheduling, and monitoring of contractor’s staffing levels for timely project completion.
Become completely knowledgeable with the scope of all contract agreements.
Assist in determining and recommending improvements in methods, schedules, and procedures where practical on the project.
Insure that all testing of materials is properly conducted and testing results are properly recorded. Coordinate with quality control personnel on site.
Insure materials are delivered to the construction site per established agreements.
Properly document any applicable back charges to subcontractors as needed.
Coordinate with Senior Project Manager to insure the project is properly manned to meet project schedules and budgets.
Be resourceful and diligent in seeking solutions to problems and adapting to new situations.
Demonstrate proficiency using a computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as e-mail, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
Other duties may be assigned as needed; the position description may be updated from time to time to better reflect the needs of the company.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions and other elements prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

This position operates machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists (ex: typing, etc.) more than half the time
This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors
This position is exposed to outdoor weather conditions less than half the time
This position is exposed to non-climate controlled workspace(s) less than half the time
The person in this position must be able to identify and distinguish between colors less than half the time
Ability to visit work sites and projected work geographic locations, if necessary.
Travel Requirements
This position requires overnight domestic travel 25% - 50% of the time
