Facilities Maintenance Engineer
A Facilities Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the guest rooms, public space and back of the house areas in good repair. A facility engineer is competent in various trades including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards.
Major Functions:
Inspect guestrooms, public space and back of the house to evaluate for areas to repair, touch up or replace
Assist other department team members in the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program
Have basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel facilities and equipment
Have working knowledge of basic hand and power tools
Is responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow employees and hotel assets in conjunction with hotel management
Will keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc.
Specific Job Tasks:
Complete all required brand specific training
Complete all required Vision University training
Complete all required health and safety training
Adhere to all Vision Hospitality Group, Inc. and property specific brand standards
Perform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests
Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
Repair or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous items
Maintain a record of repairs performed, repairs calendared and pending, and repairs needing evaluation
Have dependable transportation available

Physical Requirements:
Be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
Can stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment
Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far
Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder
Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
Must be able to handle heat and stress
Able to work in varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, etc.
Have finger dexterity for operating equipment
Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English
Must be able to write
