    Optometric Vision Therapist (Training Provided)

The Center for Vision Development is seeking a passionate full-time Vision Therapist to join our team.

We’re looking for someone who loves connecting with people of all ages—kids, teens, and adults—and finds joy in helping others succeed. The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, proactive, and eager to learn. You’ll thrive in this role if you take ownership of your training and your patients’ progress.

All vision therapists are fully trained in-house and work closely with our doctors and team, ensuring strong support and collaboration. We are a close-knit practice that values teamwork, growth, and meaningful impact.

Who We Are Founded in 2004, we are the longest-established vision therapy practice in Austin. Our team of developmental optometrists specializes in vision therapy and is deeply committed to patient-centered care.

Our therapists come from diverse backgrounds—nursing, education, nutrition, caregiving, exercise science, and medical administration—but share a common passion for helping people. We pride ourselves on professionalism, strong relationships, and delivering care that consistently goes above and beyond.

We foster a positive, collaborative environment where communication, growth, and shared success are encouraged. We are open Monday–Friday.

    Schedule Full-Time | Monday–Friday

    Mon–Thu: 10:00am–7:00pm*

    Fri: 9:00am–6:00pm

1-hour lunch break *1–2 weekdays may shift to 11:00am–7:00pm

    What You'll Do

Complete a comprehensive in-house training program (hands-on, independent study, and guided reviews)

Provide high-quality, patient-centered vision therapy tailored to each individual

Work one-on-one with patients (primarily school-aged children), building relationships and supporting their progress over time

Lead engaging, hands-on therapy sessions that are both structured and fun

Document session notes clearly and accurately

Collaborate closely with optometrists and team members to support patient success

Administer and record visual processing evaluations

Communicate progress, goals, and home activities with families in a clear and supportive way

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional therapy environment

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Your day begins with a dedicated admin hour for planning, preparation, and completing administrative tasks. From there, you’ll work one-on-one with vision therapy patients every hour throughout the day.

You’ll have a 1-hour lunch break, and session notes are completed between patients to keep your workflow organized and up to date.

Who You Are Experience working with children, education/tutoring, therapy (PT/OT/speech), optometry, or strong customer service is highly valued.

That said, we care just as much about who you are. If you naturally connect with people, enjoy being around others, and have a strong ability to understand and support individual needs, we encourage you to apply. We can teach the technical skills.
