Able to explain complex ideas in layman’s terms, the right candidate is flexible, honest, and comfortable communicating over the phone or in person. This detail-oriented and organized self-starter is responsive to client’s needs and can think several steps ahead, considering the consequences of different potential solutions. Good at risk analysis and assessment, this adaptable people person has a sense of urgency but is calm under pressure. Able to overcome obstacles, this smart and determined Systems Engineer thrives in challenging environments, takes initiative and ownership, and has situational awareness which allows him/her to understand the big picture while still considering the details. This role requires someone who isn’t afraid to ask questions or ask for help.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities and duties of this Systems Engineer position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Design and implement solutions for:
  • Microsoft Office 365 migrations
  • Cloud services migrations
  • Virtualization
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery
  • Security
  • Windows Server
  • Remote Desktop/Virtual Desktop
  • Networking
  • Infrastructure hardware replacements and upgrades
• Project Implementation and Management/Delegation of work
• Verbal and written client communication
• Troubleshoot issues during project implementation
• Onboarding and assessment of new clients
• Develop methods and best practices, setting standards for future projects
• Collaborate with sales team to develop bill of materials, scope of work, and solutions for clients
• Collaborate with vendors to design client solutions
• Documentation including product life cycles, network, warranties, configuration of what was deployed so it can be supported and monitored by Support Team
• Collaborate with Support Engineers as needed on post implementation support issues
• Learn new technology, research industry trends, continuing professional development

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

• 3-7 years’ relevant experience
• Windows Server experience

PREFERRED

• Consulting/professional services experience
• Degree in STEM field (engineering, computer science, math, etc.) or equivalent work experience
• Design, implementation and migration of:
  • Microsoft Office 365 (identity management, messaging, file storage)
  • Cloud services (Azure, Amazon)
  • Backup & Recovery
  • Windows Server solutions
  • Remote Desktop/Virtual Desktop solutions
  • Virtualization (Hyper V, VMWare)
• Certifications:
  • Microsoft 
  • Networking 
  • Cloud

DESIRED

• Shared storage and compute experience
• Cyber security experience
• Scripting & automation experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance without any driving restrictions as there can be up to 50% travel to client locations
• Position may involve standing for long periods of time, bending, lifting, laying, working in tight/enclosed spaces, as well as working with and on computers and other technology-based equipment. 
• Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

SALARY: Compensation to commensurate with experience: Salary range is $60-$90K
