    SCOPE

    The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating printed and digital collateral for all VisitDallas departments, managing his/her own projects and workflow, and maintaining and growing the organization’s photo library.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Graphic Design and Collateral Creation – The Graphic Designer is responsible for concepting and creating both printed and digital collateral for all VisitDallas departments. Materials may be either internal or consumer facing and will speak to various audiences. It’s important that the Graphic Designer understand the VisitDallas brand and maintain brand consistency across all pieces. Examples include but are not limited to: printed maps and brochures for visitors, sales collateral pieces, digital banner ads, social graphics, ads for printed publications and programs, annual reports, email newsletters and printed signs and banners.

    Project Management – The Graphic Designer is expected to manage his/her own projects and workflow. He/she should be able to set project kick-off meetings, set and adhere to deadlines, gather assets from other team members as needed, deliver materials in a timely manner and keep manager updated on progress, all while keeping up with several projects at once. The ability to be nimble and determine priorities is a must. Graphic Designer is required to maintain a clean and organized filing system for all in-progress and completed jobs.

    Printer Relationships – The Graphic Designer must have experience working with printers and know how to properly design and package files for print. He/she is responsible for maintaining relationships with printers, preparing files for print and working with the printers to determine the best materials and methods of printing. The Graphic Designer should coordinate items for delivery and gather invoices in a timely manner.

    Asset Management – The Graphic Designer is responsible for maintaining and growing the VisitDallas photo library. He/she should create an organization system, keep track of photo rights and expirations, and keep an updated set of the organization’s top photos. The Graphic Designer is responsible for managing the organizations digital asset management system, CleanPix. He/she should be able to identify holes in the organization’s photo library and contract photographers to acquire photos and/or gather assets from partners, all with proper permissions.

    Other responsibilities as needed

    SUPERVISION

    The Graphic Designer reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

    Education

    Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field

    Experience

    Minimum of 5 years working as a Graphic Designer

    Specific Skills

    Must be proficient in the full Adobe Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator

    Ability to package jobs for print

    Strong attention to detail with an eye for consistency

    Should be creative while maintaining brand consistency

    Strong organization skills

    Nimble, with the ability to switch gears and complete jobs quickly
