SCOPE
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, this position is an integral part of the Diversity and Inclusion team. The position is responsible for the continued development and implementation of the VisitDallas Diversity and Inclusion internal and external strategy focusing on marketing and sales initiatives.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure alignment of VisitDallas’ diversity and inclusion policies and programs with the organization’s strategic objectives and culture
Act as a diversity and inclusion support resource to the sales and marketing areas in their activities, to include providing guidance and assistance to them, and identifying and pursuing opportunities
Review definite diverse meetings/conventions a year in advance to determine how to better serve the client
Interface with the Diversity and Inclusion Councils, to promote the mission and of VisitDallas
Professionally represent the VisitDallas brand at industry and community meetings/events
Develop effective external strategic partnerships to maximize performance resulting in customer satisfaction
Track productivity and provide quarterly reports on diversity and inclusion internal and external projects
Collaborate with Administration on D&I Staff training
Serve as Customer Relations Management (CRM) Expert for Diversity and Inclusion Department
Explore, create and manage of Supplier Diversity Program for VisitDallas including reporting for internal and external purposes
Manage Diversity & Inclusion Employee Resource Group, support and help lead group to meets goals and objectives, ensure leadership is place, track and report ERG deliverables to VisitDallas CDIO and D-I Committee
Proactively plan, develop, and manage leadership and stakeholder engagements to support D-I strategy with diverse CEO Luncheons and Community Leader Receptions
Drive and manage VisitDallas’ minority and women -owned businesses in CRM by identifying and tracking, in addition, build reports for potential business opportunities for members and address client needs
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
College degree preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years of hospitality and customer service experience, with involvement in working with groups of a diverse nature
Demonstrated leadership and experience in advancing diversity and inclusion within an organization
Experience leading or participating in significant organizational change
Experience working with a team of professional staff
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strategic and results-oriented leader, have a strong business orientation, and be able to react quickly and effectively to changing circumstances
Take-charge self-starter with good orientation and planning skills who can work effectively with people at all levels
Persuasiveness, good communication and presentation skills, and a willingness to mentor people and hold them accountable in a positive way are required
Can-do attitude, impeccable integrity, and be an effective listener to multiple audiences serving as an internal resource and diversity and inclusion consultant; working collaboratively with a wide array of persons
Excellent communications and personal skills
Research, identify and implement best practices of diversity and inclusion
Ability to work effectively within a not-for-profit organization and the ability to negotiate with a wide range of constituencies
