    ABOUT DALLAS SPORTS COMMISSION

    The Dallas Sports Commission (DSC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to attract, retain and support sports and entertainment events that will position Dallas as the premier sports destination and have a positive impact on the economy and quality of life of Dallas residents.

    SCOPE

    The Event Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and management of the Dallas Sports Commission’s social media platforms, websites, newsletters, and marketing content. This position will also be responsible for creating custom marketing, branding, and awareness campaigns for upcoming events.

    DESCRITPION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (individual duties, assignments, and responsibilities required of the position)A. Assist in the development and execution of overall event plans for the organization as well as specific events that the Dallas Sports Commission owns or operates.

    B. Develop and manage the Dallas Sports Commission and World Cup Dallas digital and social media platforms and create additional content for hosted sports event or LOC contracted functions to drive ticket sales and awareness of DSC events.

    C. Assist in the development of marketing and media relations plans to promote designated hosted events that include ticket sales, advertising, messaging, grassroots outreach, social strategy, media relations, as well as branding & awareness.

    Determine trackable metrics and provide reports as needed for evaluation of digital and social media channels.

    Manage the Sports Commission image library by aggressively seeking new event images and ensuring the library is up to date.

    Plan, manage, and create content for the Sports Commission and events through photos, video, blogs, website, newsletters, and e-blasts.

    Manage and develop the monthly Sports Commission newsletter.

    H. Support and maintain the DSC website with relevant information regarding the DSC and its upcoming events to include content creation. Create microsites or custom websites for event rightsholders to promote and circulate information to their visitors coming to Dallas.

    I. Responsible for post-meeting/convention/event follow up to include surveys, thank you notes, pick-up reports, booking report, and final event audits.

    J. Maintain sports marketing accounts through the CRM, website, and event calendar.

    K. Assist in the development and implementation of creative marketing plans for all booked events.

    L. Collaborate and work with the sales team to develop the overall creative and marketing approach for bid proposals.

    M. Create and update marketing materials including display booths, signage, collateral, presentations, bid books, and flyers.

    N. Write and edit materials as needed: press releases, media advisories, online and social media, newsletters, E-blasts and assist in the production of bid books or other needed collateral.

    O. Assist in the creation of major bid presentations.

    P. Maintain event/marketing budgets, process invoices, and update financial reports.

    Q. Identify and plan activation opportunities for the purpose of branding and awareness of the DSC and its events.

    R. Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies. Vet and onboard new platforms when needed.

    S. Develop and cultivate relationships within the sports, media, hospitality partners, and clients to further the goals of the Sports Commission.

    T. Represent the Sports Commission at local athletic and civic events or committees as needed.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: (personnel supervision, budgets, performance, etc.)

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: (special training, certifications, college degree, etc.)

    The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree from an accredited college or university and 3 years of demonstrated experience in social media and event marketing (sports marketing experience preferred). Spanish speaking individual preferred.

    Must be comfortable crafting well-structured, solid strategic marketing plans

    Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Experience in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop preferred

    Proficient in social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat.

    Experience directly implementing and managing paid social media campaigns via Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads, and other

    Expert knowledge of social media scheduling, monitoring, and analysis tools

    Ability and comfort level to interact with clients, board members, event rights holders, facility managers and vendors.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: (overtime, travel, physical demands, and conditions)

    Must be an enthusiastic team player willing to work evenings and weekends as needed for events. Some travel may be required.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle object and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to an office environment with noise levels usually moderate.
