Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Tracy and Lathrop, California Locations - PT and On Call Available

We are seeking individuals that can do the following:

Assisting intellectually and developmentally disabled adults with daily activities and maintaining line of sight supervision

Providing companionship and problem-solving

Assisting residents with medication dispensing and documentation

Accompanying and transporting residents to medical/dental appointments

Teamwork

Preparing and serving meals

Performing light housekeeping duties

Documenting daily progress notes

Duties:

Reading, writing, and carrying out directions

Charting or taking notes for others to review

Providing companionship and supportive listening

Reporting changes in the health or status of the client

Taking vitals, height, and weight

Meal preparation for clients

Maintaining patient’s health equipment

Responding to emergencies

Administering medication

Transporting client to appointments

Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport

Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities

Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.

Schedules available:

Weekday Shifts & Weekend Shifts Available

Experience:

Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred) . Strong preference is given to certified DSP Year I and/or DSP Year II individuals. If not DSP Certified, must be able to pass and obtain DSP 1 Certification within one year of hire date.

CPR/First Aid Certification (Active)

Requirements:

Must pass a health screening and TB test

Must pass criminal background fingerprint clearance

Must be 18 years or older

Must have a valid Driver's License

Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent

Must be able to regularly stand, walk, and sit and be capable of writing, using a computer keyboard, telephone and related office equipment. Ability to lift 25lbs. and transfer 75lbs. required.

Must be able to pass and obtain DSP 1 Certification within one year of hire date.

Must be able to pass DSP 2 within 2 years of employment from hire date.

Must be able to complete required continuing education units and maintain certificates.
