The Visual Media Producer at Mercy Church is responsible for capturing, producing, and delivering a high volume of high-quality visual content - including both video and photography - that tells the story of what God is doing in and through our church. This role operates in a fast-paced, high-output environment, producing both short-form and long-form content that supports weekend services, ministry initiatives, and ongoing digital engagement. This individual translates ministry moments into meaningful, mission-aligned content that is timely, excellent, and strategically useful across platforms. This position reports to the Communications Director and works in close partnership with the Digital Media Manager as a peer role - collaborating to ensure content is both strategically aligned and effectively executed. This role requires both creative instinct and operational discipline - someone who can move quickly without sacrificing quality, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and consistently deliver content at a high level.
Qualifications: To be considered for this role, the applicant must:
Possess a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with Mercy Church’s mission, vision, and values
2+ years of experience in visual media production (video and/or photography)
Prior experience working within an institutional or organizational environment (e.g., church, nonprofit, agency, corporate team, or in-house media department)—not solely freelance work
Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless and/or cinema cameras for both video and photography
Advanced experience with editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Lightroom, Photoshop, Adobe Audition, etc.)
Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional evenings.
Skills:
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a servant-leadership mindset.
Collaborative, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to build relationships with staff, volunteers, and vendors while adapting to changing ministry priorities. Additional skills preferred but not required include:
Experience working in a church or non-profit/ministry setting, including volunteer coordination and event logistics.
A basic understanding of platforms: Google Suite, Asana, Slack, etc…
Accept and agree with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
Be a member of Mercy Church or be willing and able to become a member
Responsibilities: High-Volume Content Production (Video + Photo)
Capture and produce a high volume of visual content weekly across ministries and platforms
Film and photograph weekend services, events, testimonies, interviews, and ministry moments
Balance multiple active projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality
Editing & Content Delivery
Edit and deliver both video and photo content for services, social media, website, and campaigns
Ensure content is optimized for platform-specific use (e.g., social, YouTube, web, email)
Maintain efficient workflows to support rapid turnaround times
Storytelling & Content Capture
Proactively identify and capture stories of life change, discipleship, and generosity
Translate ministry moments into compelling, reusable content throughout the week
Contribute creative input to how stories are captured and told visually
