Job Title: IT Supervisor - Service Desk
Location: Remote / Frankenmuth, MI
Summary:
Under limited supervision and with significant independent judgment, supervises and coordinates the activities of the service desk support function of information technology, by performing the following duties:
- Directs and manages the service desk support function, including:
- Ensures timely problem resolution, system integrity, system availability and proper maintenance of applications.
- Oversees and maintains the service desk ticket monitoring system
- Directs and manages the physical inventory and management of computer hardware and software, including deployments, upgrades and support
- Oversees all computer hardware and software purchases
- Oversees vendor management for computer hardware and software, including pricing negotiation; ensures vendors deliver a high level of service.
- Oversees the execution of project management activities, including:
- Assists staff in the management and prioritization of project workload, ensuring proper resource management.
- Performs project audits.
- Ensures corporate projects are executed according to corporate strategic initiatives.
- Functions as a Supervisor of a business unit, either directly or through subordinate leaders, including but not limited to:
- Develops, recommends, and implements operational plans and procedures.
- Trains, coaches, and leads staff.
- Prepares and/or reviews performance appraisals. Conducts performance review meetings.
- Serves as a contributing member of project team(s), or leader of project team(s), coordinating resources to ensure achievement of project activities.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing. work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
