Job Location:** Monroe, NY. **
** Job Schedule: 28- 30 hours a week, Monday- Thursday (9am- 3pm), Friday (9am- 1pm/2pm). Depending on the time of year. **
Job Type:** Part Time. **
Pay Rate:** $36/ hr.
Purpose : A student has a 1:1 requirement for a nurse written into their IEP, this nurse will stay with the student to support them throughout the duration of each school day.

VitalCheck Wellness is seeking a dedicated professional and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse ** ****** to support an Orthodox Jewish private school in Monroe, NY for special needs students. We are looking for someone who possess a blend of clinical competence, communication skills and cultural sensitivity, ****_**_
**_Responsibilities:_
Provide skilled nursing services for special needs students.
Act as advocates and liaisons on health-related issues for students, families and school personnel.
Administer medication, wound care, first aid, emergency response.
Work collaboratively with educators, special education professionals, and other school staff to create a holistic care plan for each student.
Develop and implement appropriate strategies for intervention as per child's IEP or IFSP.
Prioritize and implement daily student care within program utilizing nursing theory and knowledge of program function.
Address the special needs various issues relating to program and facility.
Requirements: ** __**
Active LPN license in NY,
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an LPN. Pediatric or school nurse experience preferred. **

Minimum 1 years of experience in working with special needs students. Certification with Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association (DDNA) is a plus.
BLS Certification.
Effective communication with students, parents, school staff, and healthcare professionals is crucial.
Flexibility in adapting nursing care plans to meet the unique needs of individual students.
Understanding of the challenges these students face and provide emotional support with compassion and patience.
Knowledge of the school's emergency protocols and procedures.
Awareness, sensitivity and respect for the cultural and religious practices.
Must be up to date with Covid-19 vaccines including booster vaccines.
