    The Assistant Manager’s main role is to learn the duties of a manager while demonstrating proficiency in all restaurant positions. As a highly organized individual, you will assist the manager in all tasks and also run the restaurant in the absence of the store manager. The Assistant Manager at Vitality Bowls is expected to be a quick thinker and sound decision-maker, and possess the natural capabilities of leading the team. They direct other employees through their daily routines and interact with customers to make sure that they have a satisfactory experience. The Assistant Manager acts as quality control, ensuring customer satisfaction through training employees properly and adhering to company policy. Our Assistant Manager also ensures that all levels of quality and safety are safeguarded in our restaurants.

    Duties:

    Demonstrate proficiency on all restaurants positions.

    Work the kitchen as necessary

    Act as manager when the manager is unavailable while leading shifts and delegating tasks to ensure food is made accurately and in a timely manner.

    Assist in employee hiring, evaluations, training and scheduling on an ongoing basis.

    Greet customers and ensure their satisfaction, including handling customer complaints.

    Make sure all kitchen and dining area equipment is used and maintained properly.

    Participate in inventory review to ensure stock is properly used.

    Assist in monitoring cash flow and maintaining bank deposits.

    Build sales and profits by maintaining consistently high standards of quality, service and cleanliness.

    Comply with federal, state and local laws relevant to the business while ensuring compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

    Communicate with owners about new ideas and improved methods while striving for business growth and performance.

    Job Requirements:

    Possess or obtain a valid Food Safety Manager Certificate.

    Handle a basic computer, POS system, cash, credit cards and deposit slips.

    Know and follow guidelines for safe and sanitary food handling, and for food allergy safety.

    Follow health and safety workplace requirements.

    Maintain a clean and work-appropriate personal appearance.

    Exemplary attendance and professional accountability.

    Stand for long periods of time, occasionally lift heavy boxes, move quickly and have a sense of urgency.

    1 or more years of leadership or supervisory capacity desired.
