    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    Our company is growing, and we believe that our team is the key to our success! We are looking for a Finance Controller to join the management team and be responsible for managing the critical day-to-day financial operations of the business. The incumbent will be responsible for management of the accounting and reporting for Vitra Health and its related entities including reporting, planning, forecasting, patient revenue cycle, payroll, monthly expense management and system administration, as well as auditing of all financial records. 

    The Controller will take direction from, report to, and work closely with the Chief Operations Officer on all financial matters of the organization and will be the principal keeper of the company's books and records and ensure the company is in compliance with applicable accounting requirements, state reporting and is adhering to its financial plan. The Director will also ensure that all company resources and assets are protected and that cash and other assets are used for their intended purpose. The position will work closely with all department heads on developing departmental budgets and ensuring that those budgets are adhered to throughout the company.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Oversee the accounting and reporting of transactions and expenses in accordance with GAAP and revenue recognition rules
    • Responsible for completing daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting accurately and within specified deadlines as required.
    • Responsible for managing and development of the client receivable billing and collection for all Vitra Health programs
    • Responsible for month end reporting and analysis of financial statements and budget to actuals.
    • Oversee the approval and payment of employee expenses and company invoices consistent with policies and controls.
    • Responsible for company insurance renewals and working with the broker to ensure adequate and appropriate coverage. 
    • Track, forecast and analyze the use of cash to ensure the company has sufficient funds to meet its obligations.
    • Serve as the business owner of the accounting (Quickbooks) and payroll system (Paylocity). Ensure the automation of key processes.
    • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
    • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
    • Prepare for and serve as the primary contact for all external audits including financial, workers compensation and employee benefit plans
    • Review and track key metrics to ensure the company is in compliance with its obligations for key financial drivers.
    • Oversee, mentor, manage, hire and train a staff.
    • Compare actual performance against budget by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and recommending actions.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Ensure compliance with tax requirements and serves as the primary point of contact with outside tax consultants.
    • Develop and coordinate the operational functions of the accounting department
    • Any other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
    • Master's Degree or MBA preferred
    • CPA is a plus, but not required
    • Minimum of 7 years of financial/accounting experience, preferably in healthcare 
    • Ability to work well under pressure, maintain confidentiality and work with diplomacy and tact required.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to sort out complex information are essential
    • Ability to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of an effective team
    • Previous QuickBooks experience preferred
    • Previous Medicare billing experienced preferred
    • Previous experience in MS Office and Excel Required
    • Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budget Management, Compliance, Financial Analysis, Accounting Systems (Quickbooks), Payroll
    • Demonstrated leadership ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, and polished interpersonal skills.
