DESCRIPTION

The role of the Business Intelligence Specialist is to provide support to Vizient Southeast members, create technical documentation, and develop tools and processes in support of business intelligence objectives. Activities will include direct member support related to data submissions and portal access, report development and analytics, website maintenance, technical documentation, database support, quality assurance testing, technical troubleshooting and other related support, development and maintenance tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Technical support relating to business intelligence Portal

· Maintenance of ETL processes

· Integration of new data sources across multiple formats

· Support analytical environment for internal staff

· Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing database processes and reports

· Maintenance and monitoring of public web site and private member Portal

· Development and maintenance of technical documentation

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

· Understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices

· Broad knowledge of reporting environments, query tools and practices

· Hands-on experience with the SQL Server BI stack a plus (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS)

· Experience with web development technologies (ASP.NET, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, etc.)

· Experience with front-end web frameworks a plus (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.)

· Object oriented programming such as C# and/or Java a plus

FORMAL EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

· Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent work experience

· Microsoft certifications a plus

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 5-10%
