Your Tasks Primary Duties: * Interpreting, modifying, and maintaining measurement policies and procedures * Perform monthly terminal gain/loss analysis. Investigate instances of mis-measurement; to identify research, analyze and report measurement problems. * Inspects stamped parts to ensure that hole locations, contour measurements, and shapes conform, within prescribed tolerances, to blueprint specifications, using coordinate measuring machine and working to Automotive common tolerances. * Aligns part with specified locations or measurement points on charts and examines projected enlargement to determine if hole locations, contour, and shape of part fall within tolerance lines. * Configure and create new Metrolog (Mitutoyo Controlled Open Systems for Modular Operation Support) software programs to blueprint/CAD dataset specifications * Compares readings with chart and blueprint specifications and calculates differences between readings and specifications. * Analyse the CMM reports and give feedback to production / process Engineers to improve the production process. * Operate the FARO arm to make scans of products and gauges. * Records inspection data and interprets findings to supervisory personnel. * May operate coordinate measuring machines equipped with spotting and scribbling device to locate, spot and scribe tool, gauge, fixture, and die blanks. * Drives measurement improvements and processes. * Planning, scheduling and coordinating work with other departments to ensure timely completion of equipment installation and repair. Your Profile Competencies: Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) skills (programming and series tests) Automotive experience is required Metrolog experience Experience operating Zeiss, Mitutoyo Crystal Apex, FARO Experience with hand measurement tools Education and/or Experience High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to the Board and outside investors.
