    Commonwealth Management Corporation is a regional real estate investment management firm headquartered in Fond du Lac, WI, operating multifamily residential properties all over the United States. We are looking for a detail-oriented, accountable and eager to learn staff accountant who is committed to our companies’ values of providing high-quality, affordable housing to join our team.

    The Staff Accountant will directly assist and support the Accounting Manager and VP of Finance of Commonwealth Management Corporation. Duties will include and are not limited to, ensuring accuracy of financial reports, meeting deadlines, reviewing and production of financial statements and budgets, etc.

    Key general goals for the position are as follows:

      • Security Deposit Tie Outs
    • Bank Reconciliations
    • Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis.
    • Maintains and improves attention to details.
    • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters.
    • Collections (submissions, write offs, sending e-mails and posting payments)
    • Monthly financial reviews
    • Helping property managers and regionals with Yardi obstacles and any other issues.
    • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • 0-3 years of experience in accounting and a desire to learn
    • Possess the ability to process large amounts of information accurately and within deadlines
    • Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
    • High level of attention to detail
    • Strong computer experience

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk or hear and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
