Job Description Ongoing training and program development go hand in hand to play a critical role in the success of Volo Cities. The Training Manager will play a pivotal role in this success, through management and coordination of training activities for Volo teams (including Part-Time Staff, Full-Time Staff, and Volunteers) to meet the demands of the aforementioned growth.
As a member of the Product Team, this individual will work with the National Product Director to develop a training and programmatic strategy, and lead a training team to execute on this strategy. This team will report into the National Product Director and work in close collaboration with City Leads, the Volo Kids Foundation, and the Product Development Team, to ensure integration, alignment and continued development for new and existing products.
THE TRAINING AND PRODUCT TEAMS WILL DEVELOP AND EXECUTE:
CENTRALIZED STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT FOR FULL TIME, PART TIME STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, AND INTERNS.
Design and develop training content and learning plans, coordinate training logistics, conduct all unit training efforts; and deliver onsite and web-based training for targeted units and leaders.
Work with City Managing Directors, Staffing Managers, and Volunteer Coordinators to ensure training needs are identified, planned, aligned and addressed.
Adjust/improve curricula for existing products based on product changes or enhancements.
Work with Product Development to ensure training team is capable to deliver training for new products (NPIs)
Leverage training and audit practices to flip newly acquired cities into Volo processes and brand standards.
Collaborate with the executive team to design and support events and contests which build a positive team morale.
STANDARDIZED PLATFORMS AND RESOURCES TO ENSURE STRATEGIC PROGRAMMATIC GROWTH
Implement local milestones to track progress and identify needs
Utilize performance and productivity platforms in order to encourage collaboration between markets and ongoing program development and expansion
Institute comprehensive data and metrics criteria to steer systematic growth
Enhance nationwide outreach efforts to prioritize both retention and expansion
Streamline local hiring and onboarding processes
CAREER DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT FOR FULL TIME AND PART TIME STAFF.
Forecast training needs, and ensure training resources and facilities are available to meet demands.
Partner in hiring needs with HR and recruiting teams. Participating in interviewing and building a great team.
Monitors training reports within Learning Management System for the respective roles to assure that initial and annual training is completed on time for each role and individual staff members
Collaborates with Center Leadership to ensure cross-training opportunities are identified and effectively utilized for staff.

PART-TIME STAFF TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Curriculum check, maintenance, and development for Part-Time basic subjects
All Part-Time trainings built on virtual platform
Part-Time staff development program build out
Planning & execution support for in person training events
Evaluation system for training program in place
FULL TIME STAFF TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Training process developed with corresponding materials for Full-Time roles
Establish assessments of employees' skills, talents, performance and productivity and prepare written evaluations with advice for improvement.
Supporting Role:
Quarterly Leadership Retreat Planning
Annual Volo Games & Summit planning and execution achieves learning goals
Hiring support in the form of identifying needs and screening candidates
Qualifications MUST-HAVES
5-6 years professional experience Ideally:
2+ years in training
2+ years in sports programming / team management
Strong ability to execute vision in a cross functional and startup environment.
Constantly thinks out of the box, never satisfied with the status quo and inquisitive mind to drive change.
Background in training or education preferred.
Finely developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment with minimal direct supervision.
Experience with coaching employees, delivering feedback, goal setting, and performance evaluation.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Dynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, a fun and active sporting environment.
