Job Description
In this role, you will oversee the implementation and development of VBC’s software and information technology infrastructure for North America. This is a unique opportunity to streamline our growing organization with practical technology applications. Your primary goal will be to help us “turn-on” the Tracy facility, oversee implementation of new technology, and build scalable software infrastructure improve productivity across our organization.
You will also be responsible for:
Devising and executing the organization's information systems roadmap to support the implementation of business strategies set by upper management
Analyzing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technological needs
Purchasing efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
Assisting in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
Overseeing all information technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluating them according to established goals
Inspecting the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
Identifying the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
Coordinating IT managers and supervising network administrators, software engineers, and other professionals to provide guidance
Controlling budget and reporting on IT expenditures
WHAT WE EXPECT

You are resourceful – you can operate in a startup environment, manage a variety of tasks, and take the initiative to get things done
Expertise in design to manufacturing software (Autodesk, hsbCAD, etc.)
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel required
WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
After 3 MONTHS you will have...
Setup of Tracy, CA facility technology infrastructure to enable building product manufacturing and revenue generation
Revised and negotiated contracts with critical software providers and executed an implementation strategy to ensure successful adoption and training for these tools
Created a 12-month operating budget and forecast for the Tracy, CA facility
After 6 MONTHS you will have...
Designed and implemented a scalable ERP and reporting infrastructure at our Tracy, CA facility.
Developed relationships with all VBC department stakeholders to understand department pain points and uncover opportunities for technological enhancement.
Created a 12-month technology roadmap for enhancing productivity across VBC’s other organizations (manufacturing, design, and construction)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent required, Master’s degree preferred.
Proven experience as an IT Director or similar role
Proven track record controlling and information technology budget
A solid understanding of the architecture and construction industry
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
