    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    US Regional Representatives contribute to volunteer effectiveness and smooth operations of the Volunteer Programs by leading, communicating with, and supporting Chapters, Teams, and Clubs in your region to fulfill Days for Girls mission. By building a regional network and communicating opportunities, learnings, and resources available while listening and supporting Chapters, Teams, and Clubs activities, your efforts create a ripple effect that increases the results of Days for Girls as you promote both excellence and understanding of the work of our global Days for Girls family. The US Regional Representative is a regionally-based volunteer position and will work closely with the USA Country Coordinator, the International Chapters Director and the Associate Chapters Manager and have tremendous impact. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Connect and become familiar with the Chapters, Teams, and Clubs in your region in order to create a feeling of support, cohesiveness, and collaboration.  Support Chapters, Teams, and Club leaders in such a way as to build and facilitate strong relationships and trust with them as well as open lines of communication about successes, needs, challenges, and other learnings that they are experiencing.

    • Support Days for Girls International’s core values and processes. 

    • Foster collaboration between your region's teams and chapters.

    • Facilitate connections between clubs, chapters and teams.

    • Provide guidance and be a primary contact for clubs.  

    • Commitment to understand, support, and implement the DfG Impact Zones by first becoming familiar with them yourself and then championing them with other Chapters, Teams, and Clubs. 

    • Commitment to understand, support, and implement Gold Standard Sewing standards by first becoming familiar with them yourself and then championing them with other Chapters, Teams, and Clubs

    • The time commitment is 5-10 hours per week.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

    • Call individuals applying to be a Days for Girls team and introduce them to DfG policies and procedures.

    • Fill out Regional Quarterly Report by identifying highlights from your region (great stories, distributions, events).

    • Ensure that all Chapters, Teams, and Clubs in your region receive and are aware of important DfG updates.

    • Assist Chapters, Teams, and Clubs with technical support issues (IT), including making sure that the Chapters, Teams, and Clubs in your region are using and checking their DfG emails regularly

    • Work with country leadership to assist with collective USA wide projects such as refugee/disaster relief projects.

    • Update SalesForce with notes about any important communications with Chapters, Teams, and Clubs.

    • DAILY: Check Regional Representative email and respond appropriately.  

    • MONTHLY: Reach out and follow up with Teams in Training in your region to ensure and support them in receiving their Gold Standard Sewing Certification within the first 6 months of registration. Encourage and follow up with Chapters and Teams to ensure their monthly and kit reporting is completed.  

    • QUARTERLY: Participate in Regional Rep call via Zoom. Complete Regional Quarterly Report. Hold a Regional Video Call with your Region to increase communication, get to know Chapters, Teams, and Clubs, hear about and respond to highlights, challenges, improvements, and keep your region updated on best practice.

    • Yearly: Be familiar with the steps involved with Chapters, Teams, and Clubs yearly renewal so that you can work alongside them to complete it.  

    • EVERY OTHER YEAR: Work with Country Leadership to host a Regional Conference every other year.  

    • OCCASIONALLY: Rarely, and as needed, the Regional Representatives meet virtually as a whole for emergency communications and considerations

    EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

    • Experience managing volunteers

    • Previous involvement with Days for Girls. A demonstrated passion for the Days for Girls International mission and desire to make a difference on a global scale. Strong sense of gratitude 

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly intercultural communication and conflict management

    • Strong ability to be self-motivated, take initiative and be flexible and adaptable

    • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple tasks and volunteers

    • Energetic, creative, and resourceful

    • Loves collaboration, as well as independence and can work well with remote team members and different cultures

    • Detail-oriented and conscientious in carrying out responsibilities accurately to completion

    • Possess a strong work ethic and operate with a high level of trustworthiness and integrity
