    Job Title: Voter Registrar I - Must have valid driver's license and registered to vote.

    Job Location: 500 Studio Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452

    Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, some nights & weekends

    Pay Rate: $16.03/hr.

    Job Duties:

    • Perform general clerical work conducting voter registration and efficient state and federal elections in the City of Virginia Beach.
    • Work is performed independently under the general supervision of the Voter Registration Supervisor or the Senior Registrar Deputy Director of Elections according to the requirements levied by the Electoral Board and the Director of Elections/General Registrar, in accordance with State and Federal election laws. 2 Representative Work Functions and Responsibilities
    • Greet the public; and provide the public with information on election activities, proof of residency letters, candidate expenditure reports, changes in existing registrations, information on absentee ballots, and the location of voting polls.
    • Register the public to vote; and enter data on the state voter registration system.
    • Assist the public with absentee balloting, in person voting, and the demonstration of voting machines.
    • Maintain and replenish all established voter mail-in applications from display boxes and determine locations for placement.
    • Perform data entry, word processing, and prepare spreadsheets as required.
    • Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.

       

       

      Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school or GED and 1 year of experience in office work which includes typing and public contact; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
    • Must be a registered voter in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
    • Must have a current valid driver’s license
