    Job Description

    We are currently seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR), who will be responsible for handling customer orders and shipments in a manufacturing environment.  This is a full-time position, reporting to the Sales Manager, at our location in the Northeast Houston/Humble area.  The CSR’s primary responsibility will be to handle incoming orders, prioritize and organize customer deliverables, work with the manufacturing team to meet deadlines, and process the outbound shipments.  The CSR will assist with incoming phone calls and other communications, greeting clients and visitors, as well as managing files, updating documents, and performing other general office duties.

    We are a North East Houston based manufacturer that provides multifaceted environmental products across numerous industries on a worldwide basis. In this position, you will be required to carry out responsibilities in accordance with the company’s Policies & Procedures and any applicable state and federal Laws. Responsibilities will include the above-mentioned tasks along with supporting the Sales Team and any other tasks assigned by the Sales Manager.

    Primary CSR Responsibilities:

    ·       Working with customers and processing their orders

    ·       Dispatching outbound and occasional inbound shipments

    ·       Completing proper transit documents (P/L, B/L, CI & SLI)

    ·       Tracking shipments and handling freight payables & disputes

    ·       Participation in Sales & Operations meetings (Daily)

    ·       Handling incoming customer calls and other communications

    ·       Optimizing freight efficiencies to cut cost and expedite deliveries

    ·       Evaluating freight carriers and their resources based on meeting customers needs

    ·       Updating paperwork, maintaining documents and word processing

    ·       Creating, maintaining, and entering information into databases

    ·       Organizing and preparing customer submittals

    ·       Greeting clients and visitors as needed

    ·       Scan, fax and photocopy documents as needed

    ·       May assist in coordinating events, managing files or other generic office clerical work as needed

    The ideal candidate will have a college degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related discipline with some work experience or in lieu of a college degree the candidate should have 2-5 years office work experience in a sales or manufacturing environment. 

    In order for you to be considered as a candidate, you will also need to meet the minimum requirements:

    ·       High School Degree or Equivalent (College Degree or Accredited University hours preferred)

    ·       Experienced with Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel and Outlook

    ·       Experienced in Shipping/Logistics

    ·       Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise business documents

    Additional preferred or favored Skills:

    ·       Knowledge of QuickBooks or comparable accounting programs

    ·       Various Shipping Experience including Small Parcel, LTL, FTL, Air and Ocean

    ·       Bi-Lingual (Preferably Spanish)

    This is a full-time position with health insurance, 401(K) and eligibility for a performance bonus.
