Role Overview
The Network Security Analyst (Vulnerability Remediation Coordinator) supports enterprise vulnerability management by coordinating remediation activities across server platforms. This role focuses on tracking, facilitating, and reporting remediation efforts while working closely with security, infrastructure, and change management teams—not performing hands-on patching.
Key Responsibilities
Vulnerability Remediation Coordination
Manage and track vulnerability remediation tasks using ServiceNow
Coordinate resolution of high-risk or out-of-cycle vulnerabilities
Act as liaison between Security, Server Ops, and other teams
Ensure timely remediation aligned with risk priorities
ServiceNow & Process Management
Create and manage remediation tasks, change requests, and configuration items
Document remediation plans, validation, and rollback procedures
Ensure compliance with process standards and audit requirements
Change Management & CAB
Prepare and present change requests to CAB
Communicate risk, scope, remediation approach, and validation plans
Coordinate approvals, scheduling, and execution of changes
Cross-Platform Coordination
Support remediation across Windows, Linux (RHEL), and Citrix platforms
Work with SMEs to understand remediation strategies and constraints
Ensure consistent tracking across multiple environments
Tracking, Reporting & Compliance
Maintain status of vulnerabilities, changes, and remediation progress
Support audit and compliance reporting
Identify process improvements and reduce remediation delays
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience coordinating vulnerability remediation
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (Change Mgmt, IT Remediation Workspace)
Strong understanding of ITIL change management and CAB processes
Knowledge of server platforms (Windows, Linux, Citrix)
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Strong communication skills for cross-team coordination
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in government or regulated environments
Familiarity with CSOC and enterprise vulnerability workflows
Experience handling emergency/out-of-cycle remediation
Exposure to audit, compliance, and security reporting
