Location: Latham, NY

Schedule: Full Time, some on-call required.

Compensation: $100,000 to $ 105,000. Per year

Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner will plan, direct, and evaluate patients and provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care.

What You'll Do:

Provides gynecologic services; annual check-ups and routine Pap smears.

Provides antepartum and postpartum care.

Performs selected laboratory testing; offers referrals to physicians write prescriptions, and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.

Schedules follow-up visits as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Performs on-call duties during weekends and holidays for the physician on a rotating basis.

Performs procedures for Nexplanon insertion removal, IUD insertion removal, endometrial biopsy, and laminaria insertion.

Available as a backup resource to RN on phone triage.

Provides office coverage on a rotating basis during lunch.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks.

Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.

Current approval by the joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.

Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state.

Master's degree is required.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Able to lift 20 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.

May be exposed to adverse indoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.), and chemical hazards.

Since 1983 we have provided comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to the Capital Region. Our practice is comprised of three doctors and four nurse practitioners. We provide a full range of gynecologic services, from annual check-ups and routine Pap smears to procedures performed in our office or surgeries in the hospital. We evaluate and treat women with abnormal pap smears, sexually transmitted infections, pelvic pain, fibroids, abnormal bleeding and menopause. We provide contraceptive counseling, including insertion of IUD's. Our practice also performs on site ultrasounds.
