Job Description
The GPO consultant is required to become a subject matter expert (SME) for the assigned cross-categorical contracts; within 60-90 days, 8-10 agreements from our portfolio are transitioned/allocated to the GPO Consultant. He/she is independently responsible for ongoing contract management, building a successful contract(s) strategy, managing supplier relationships, and evaluating the agreements for potential enhancement. For the assigned categories, the consultant needs to develop and implement a strategy for business stakeholders' utilization and achieve budget targets. He/she must maintain the practicality of the allocated agreements by evaluating the likelihood of amendments (term extensions, enhancement of the current services and prices, addition of the new services) and review suppliers proposed changes and complete them independently as needed.
The consultant is required to provide input to develop a budget for the allocated categories and manage the performance of the assigned portfolio. The consultant is expected to understand the allocated contract terms and conditions and perform the negotiations to determine new agreement terms. He/she is required to collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify the problem and recommend the solution.
The consultant is responsible for developing and maintaining the project plans for the assigned initiatives. He/she must gather all business requirements to create the RFP/RFI/RFQ document; determine stakeholders' needs, write the RFP document, release/distribute to the selected suppliers, evaluate and re-evaluate the shortlisted suppliers by evaluating the Best and Final Offer (BAFO) and submit the final findings to stakeholders for their input. In the RFP development phase, the consultant must understand the project scope and the criteria for evaluating the entries. He/she is required to develop the bidding process, create scorecards, compile, and provide the final scores to the business stakeholders. The consultant must engage the selected suppliers by completing NDAs and ensuring all NDAs are executed before sharing confidential information.
The GPO consultant assists and supports other GPO areas in completing research, evaluation, and creating PPT presentations. As needed, the GPO consultant will support any sourcing/procurement tasks as assigned by the manager or GPO leadership utilizing their knowledge of Word, Excel, and PPT and provide any reports from GPO tools and platforms (Salesforce, eProcurement) as requested.
