Job Description: Retail Clerk & Floral Assistant

Walter Knoll Florist, a renowned floral shop in O'Fallon, MO, is seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a Retail Clerk & Floral Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting with various floral arrangement tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist them in selecting appropriate floral arrangements, plants, and gift items based on their preferences and occasions.
- Answer customer inquiries, provide product information, and offer creative suggestions for floral designs.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using the computerized point-of-sale system.
- Prepare and arrange flowers, plants, and other floral products for display, ensuring they are fresh, beautiful, and well-maintained.
- Create custom floral arrangements based on customer requests, incorporating unique designs and artistic elements.
- Assist with receiving and organizing incoming floral shipments, ensuring proper storage and inventory management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail area, ensuring a pleasant and inviting shopping environment.
- Assist with promotional displays, seasonal decor installations, and special events as required.
- Stay up-to-date with current floral industry trends, new products, and emerging floral design techniques.
- Collaborate with the floral design team to share knowledge, ideas, and inspiration for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with floral products, including flowers, plants, and related accessories, is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers and team members.
- Passion for floral design and creativity, demonstrated through a portfolio or previous experience in floral arrangement.
- Detail-oriented mindset with good organizational skills to execute tasks efficiently and maintain product quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak floral seasons (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc.).
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems is an advantage.
