Our Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) directly improves the safety, energy efficiency, and comfort of homes—one household at a time.
The WAP Journeyman supports the daily operations of our Weatherization projects under the direction of the WAP Crew Lead. This role involves hands-on construction and repair work to make homes safer, more efficient, and more livable for those in need.
Perform weatherization tasks following federal and program guidelines
Remove and replace siding, drywall, insulation, ductwork, and ventilation systems
Conduct air sealing, framing, painting, and general carpentry work
Assist HVAC technicians with duct installation
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
Follow OSHA and company safety protocols
Communicate professionally with clients and coworkers
Maintain daily attendance and punctuality
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years of experience in residential carpentry, HVAC, or electrical preferred
Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs., crawl, climb ladders, and work in tight/hot/cold spaces
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
OSHA certification or ability to obtain within 60 days
Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
$16.91/hour starting wage
