    Job Description

    The Lead Multi-Market Analyst, under minimal supervision, is responsible to assist in the overall daily management of staff and work activities in the Large Group Operations Department.   

    The Lead Multi-Market Analyst, working with the Director, Sr. Director and Sr. VP of Operations, and other management staff members as necessary, oversees the activities of the Multi-Market Analysts and department.  The Lead Multi-Market Analyst assists Analysts by applying carrier quoting and underwriting principles and procedures to new RFQs and sold business submissions, researches and analyzes submission issues, responds to telephone and written inquiries and initiates steps to assist callers regarding issues relating to the submission/approval process. The Lead Multi-Market Analyst independent decisions within carrier guidelines and procedures relative to new business as well as modifications to existing business.  

    The Lead Multi-Market Analyst handles more complex RFQ and installation situations, customer inquiries, customer trainings/education and carrier onboarding.   

    OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Demonstrate solid understanding of market factors, carriers, plans, benefits and guidelines in the Level Funded and Large Group insurance landscape and share that information with the Analysts and customers on a regular basis
    • Identify staff development needs and provide/coordinate necessary training, auditing, feedback and skill development for members of the department
    • Identify customer needs and provide/coordinate necessary training, education and communication for the customers 
    • Initiate, assist with and coordinate the onboarding of new carriers and partners; including Pro Suite of tools, training, processes, and relationship development
    • Initiate, evaluate and balance/reallocate case load assignments, as necessary, to help staff members achieve department and individual performance objectives 
    • Collaborate and develop processes and educational opportunities with the Sales department; bridging the communication between Sales and Operations  
    • Provide daily, monthly and annual reports for the purposes of staffing recommendations, workload allocation, sales tracking of carrier partners  
    • Continually evaluates work environment to identify and make recommendations about areas where procedures and processes can be improved, and assists in formulating and implementing new processes, procedures and policies in the Multi-Market department 
    • Receive RFQ information and prepare quotes for agents and/or their clients using the RFQ document and/or the Warner Pacific quoting system with a high degree of accuracy. 
    • Conduct all business activities with a sales acumen and a goal of providing only  the soundest purchasing recommendations to sales executives and agents
    • When needed, assist others in providing carrier/plan consultative services to sales executives and brokers to assist with new group and renewal purchasing decisions.        
    • Respond promptly to all internal and external communications, such as client or management e-mails and phone messages, ideally within no more than 4 hours of receipt
    • Handle elevated broker/case issues in a timely fashion, generally within 24 hours, and provides timely follow up to affected parties regarding status
    • Participate in and complete other department projects as assigned in an efficient, cooperative and timely fashion
    • Identify topics and prepares materials for, and makes training and other presentations at departmental staff meetings
    • In the absence of, or when requested by, the Director, compile and distribute Carrier contact lists, Daily Distribution Reports, Monthly Broker Exception/Priority Listings and order all departmental supplies as necessary
    • Achieve unit performance objectives as established
    • Mentor and train staff members; provide feedback; and recommend disciplinary measures as needed to Director
    • Provide back-up or assistance in other areas within the Department/Company as requested
    • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned from time to time by the Company or its designated representatives

    ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS 

    • Prior demonstrated ability to lead and communicate well with others in a leadership role
    • Minimum of a High School Diploma; advanced education or degree preferred
    • Minimum 5 years Analyst experience, or any combination of education and/or experience that would provide an equivalent background in terms of Large Group and Level Funded knowledge and experience
    • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
    • Must maintain an active applicable state Life and Health Insurance License
    • Ability to understand, demonstrate and oversee/supervise staff use of computer system, computer programs and office equipment as necessary, including ability to type a minimum of 30-35 wpm and proficiency in the use of a 10 key
    • Ability to work on site (in the office) a minimum of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, generally with shift start times between 7:30-9:00 a.m., as determined by senior management
    • May require occasional in/out of state multi day travel 
    • Ability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by senior management
    • High level of planning, organizing and time management skills
