As a Job Coach, you will serve as a field trainer for the participant in a natural work environment. The Job Coach will use structured intervention techniques to help the participant learn to perform job tasks to general specifications and to learn the interpersonal skills necessary to be accepted as a worker at the job site. The Job Coach will work directly with the participant with a disability in a training or placement site to help him/her learn the specific requirements of the job; learn work-related activities and requirements such as time and attendance rules; and learn appropriate work-related (including social) behaviors when dealing with supervisors and co-workers. In addition to work-site training, the Job Coach provides related assessment, such as job development skills, counseling, advocacy, and other services needed to maintain employment.
MUST have reliable clean transportation and car insurance
Transport participant from home to worksite (paid mileage)
Strong communication skills
Job performance skills such as building sequence, quality, and quantity
Job related skills such as hygiene, grooming, socializing with coworkers
Job related skill of building communication of accepting feedback and direction during supervision
Assists in travel training by reinforcing travel skills
Continually evaluate and monitor the consumers performance and progress
Begins fading as the participant becomes more proficient and requires less field training intervention
