    Job Description:

    Job Description: This position is remote and/or onsite, if applicable, at BMWIT’s onsite location in Portland, OR. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or MSW works as a member of a multidisciplinary outpatient team to assess clients for risk, mental health, and chemical dependency diagnoses, and treatment readiness while supporting a trauma-informed care environment. With the high prevalence of trauma among individuals receiving mental health services, it is required that the Licensed Clinical Social Worker or MSW understand the effects of trauma on health, coping, and other aspects of the lives of those we serve. Clinicians provide therapeutic mental health and addiction treatment to clients and complete client assessments, often in a community-based setting or virtually. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (MSW) develops or assists in developing treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs. The clinician maintains documentation associated with client contacts, consultation, treatment strategies, tracking for referrals, etc.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    A current unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker credential in Oregon is required. (LCSW/LPC)

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications: ▪ Demonstrate competencies required to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional and (Master’s level) ▪ Experience with chronic health conditions preferred ▪ Ability to conduct a Mental Status assessment and formulate a diagnosis according to the most current DSM ▪ Understanding of the recovery model, motivational interviewing, and illness management ▪ Thorough knowledge of evidence-based practices and strength-based case management philosophies and strategies ▪ Operate computer hardware and software at a level needed to perform job functions effectively ▪ Enter and retrieve data ▪ Prepare reports ▪ Possess a valid driver’s license, and insurance three-year driving history; a clean driving record, ability to pass a Driver Motor Vehicle (DMV) check. Employees must be approved to provide transportation utilizing agency vehicles so that residents may access the community.

    Working Conditions:

    Work may be performed virtually and in a community or clinic setting. Work is performed on Saturday, 8 AM – 6 PM. Daily routines may be hectic and will likely require the clinician to exhibit a considerable ability to be flexible. Meal periods and breaks are subject to interruption. Universal Precautions and remaining alert to the environment are critical to addressing the potential for violent behavior, exposure to disease, biohazards, noise, and contaminants. ▪ Mental Demands: The work assigned is diverse and involves addressing new and unusual circumstances in which outcomes may negatively affect costs, employee morale, or clients. The work regularly involves a degree of unpredictability and disruption of planned tasks, requiring a flexible time management approach. ▪ Physical Demands: Activities and structure support community integration, assisting residents in continued growth for successful independent living. Employees must be able to assist residents in participating in various activities, events, and excursions involving skills building and community integration. The employee must be approved to provide transportation using agency vehicles or their own to support resident access to the community.
