    Job Description: Web Developer

    Duration: 6+ months
    Location: Houston, TX 77002

    Position Overview:

    The Web Developer will support the Creative Team – Web Services by developing and maintaining DNN websites and web-based solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This role involves creating, reviewing, and refining website code and content to ensure accuracy and readiness for deployment. The Web Developer will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including management, project managers, and business analysts, to deliver high-quality, accessible, and visually consistent web solutions that align with organizational standards, branding guidelines, and project needs. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create dynamic and responsive web experiences.
    • Build and repair DNN-based websites and related web assets, ensuring seamless functionality and integration.
    • Create and update content and page layouts that adhere to branding standards and accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG compliance).
    • Review and verify content accuracy and quality prior to publication, identifying and resolving any inconsistencies or errors.
    • Utilize DevOps and other project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) to record work, track progress, and manage tasks effectively.
    • Participate in team meetings —both in-person and virtual—to coordinate tasks, provide updates, and align on project goals.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Proven experience in web development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript ; familiarity with modern frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, React) is a plus.
    • Hands-on experience with DNN (DotNetNuke) platforms, including building, maintaining, and troubleshooting DNN-based sites.
    • Strong understanding of web accessibility standards , branding consistency, and content management best practices.
    • Proficiency in DevOps tools and project management methodologies for tracking and collaboration.
    • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder collaboration and team participation.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving.

    Scheduled Milestones and Deliverables:

    Deliverables and project timelines will be established collaboratively by management, project managers, and business analysts , based on assigned projects such as Flood Control initiatives and other departmental needs. Key expectations include:

    • Alignment with established schedules, project requirements, and deployment timelines to ensure timely delivery.
    • Regular progress updates and milestone achievements tied to specific project phases (e.g., development sprints, content reviews, and go-live dates).

    Performance Metrics:

    Performance will be evaluated based on the following measurable criteria:

    • Work completed and tracked in DevOps : Percentage of tasks logged, completed on time, and documented accurately.
    • Target goals and timelines : Achievement of assigned milestones, monitored by the manager and senior team members, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
