    The Culinary Assistant will play a key role in refining the recipe development and culinary innovation processes of each WECO menu, as well as helping to ensure smooth sailing in our test kitchen based in Acton, MA. Under the direction of our top-tier culinary leadership team, you'll test recipes, cooking methods, customer instructions, scaling, and packaging of each of our menu items, all the while helping us develop our sustainable and locally-focused approach to food and community.

    The role:

    • Continual testing and optimization of WECO Hospitality recipes to ensure a consistently delicious product that is within culinary guidelines and standards.
    • Cross-test 5–7 recipes per week, including reheat tests and packaging configurations, under the guidance of culinary leadership.
    • Execute daily reheat tests for weekly menus, focusing on accuracy of provided time and temperature instructions
    • Assist with content creation for reheat instructions and marketing copy
    • Support the Culinary Team with preparation for recipe creative/photoshoots as needed.
    • Daily kitchen maintenance, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and taking out trash.
    • Provide administrative support with the development of menu content as needed at each stage of the menu building process.
    • Meet deadlines and help the rest of the team do the same.

    Who you are:

    • An excitement and passion for all things food! If you love to cook and are excited to build a career around food we want to hear from you!
    • While not required, experience as a line cook, chef, or recipe developer is a plus.
    • Proficiency in Google Suite
    • Solid administrative management and IT competencies 
    • Great attention to detail - this is a must!
    • Ability to be on your feet for the majority of the day
    • An organized self-starter, with a natural ability to multi-task
    • Troubleshooter extraordinaire - no problem too big or small to conquer
    • A collaborative team player, with great communication skills and an upbeat, can-do attitude
    • Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment where priorities can shift quickly
    • Curious - not afraid to ask questions, with a desire to grow and learn within the culinary department and within the company
